This past June, 2 of the BJ’s top pitchers in 2009 were selected in the Major League Baseball Draft. The Astros selected Bobby Doran in the fourth round before the Twins snagged Matt Hauser in the seventh round. During the summer of 2009, Doran was 3-4 with a 3.49 E.R.A for the Liberal Bee Jays. He had 38 strikeouts and 15 walks. Doran previously played for the Seward County Community College Saints, and then for Texas Tech. Hauser, a Newport Beach, California right hander was 5-2 with a 2.45 E.R.A. for the 34-20 Bee Jays. Hauser struck out 85 and walked 16 for Mike Hargrove’s 2009 BJ’s. Hauser was 4-3 with a 3.67 E.R.A. and eight saves for San Diego U. this spring. 2010 Bee Jay pitcher Parker Markel was also drafted in the 2010 darft in the 39th round by the Tampa Bay Rays. He singed on July 21. Parker previously played for Yavapai. Attachments:
