I ask because since 2005 the Clark Griffith has lost three teams to the newer Cal Ripken league and one team to the Valley league. Also, Arlington lasted only one season and Beltway & McLean only two seasons in the league.

I think because some teams think the grass is greener on the other side or because they feel the other leagues offer something the league they are in doesn't. I'm sure there are a million other reasons but that's the first two I could come up with.

Now it's the turn of the So. Maryland Cardinals to switch to the Cal Ripken league. They played just a single season in the CG.

I'm guessing once a couple teams jumped ship, all the others figured they'd better get out while the gettin's good. I hate to say it but the last three teams are probably looking for their way out, also, unless they can get at least one more team to start up.

I think that it's a tough market for the Clark Griffith League. The Cal Ripken League is solid and growing, the ACBL is only getting better, the CPL and VBL are top notch leagues, and all are located not to far away from the DC area.

I heard about it a couple of days ago. I'm not sure that they will even be back in 2011.

Any news on where the three remaining teams will be playing, if at all?

I heard today that the DC Grays have shut down for the 2010 season as they have nowhere to play.
